Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked at the counter. If your question isn’t here, call — we’d rather answer it than have you guess.

What is self storage and how does it work?

Renting a storage unit is a great solution to clear up some much-needed space at home or to hold much needed business items. All of our storage facilities offer clean, secure storage solutions at affordable prices.

How much does self storage cost?

Our rates vary between unit sizes and type of storage. For more information about our pricing, check out our rates page.

Please contact us if you have any additional questions about renting a unit.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

For other helpful packing and organizing tips, check out our storage tips page.

When can I access my stored items or vehicle?

We’re open from 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week. Our office is open from 9:30 AM to 5 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Our office is open 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday.

What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?

We pride ourselves on making things as simple as possible for our customers. For helpful tips on packing and organizing your unit, head on over to our storage tips page.

Do I have to sign a long-term lease?

Not here. Rent a storage unit month-to-month and never worry about long-term leases you can’t break. There are no early termination fees when you want to move out!

How do I move out?

Give us a notice up to 14 days in advance via email or text, or let us know in person during office hours. You can clean out your storage unit and give it a good sweep, then you’re good to go!

Does your boat & RV storage fit larger motorhomes?

With spaces ranging up to 12’ x 45’, we accommodate larger motorhomes and even fifth wheels. Wide aisles give you plenty of clearance to park!

Do I need to provide my own lock?

Yes. We recommend a sturdy disc lock for better protection.

How does the first month free work?

New tenants get one month’s rent free on any unit or outdoor space, including the oversize RV spaces. Month to month, so there’s no term to sign. One-off items — a lock, tenant insurance, any admin fee — still apply. Full details.

What size unit do I need?

Roughly: 5×5 a closet, 5×10 a studio, 10×10 a one-bedroom, 10×15 two bedrooms, 10×20 a three-bedroom house, 10×30 a house plus a vehicle. Our size guide goes room by room.

How long an RV or boat can you take?

Up to 12×45, which handles a 40-foot-plus motorhome or fifth wheel. Measure bumper to bumper including the hitch and anything on the back, then send us the number.

What are the gate hours?

6:00am to 10:00pm every day, on your own keypad code. The office is Mon–Sat 9 to 5.

How long do I have to rent for?

One month minimum, then month to month. A single rental turnover or a summer-only boat space is completely normal.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, tenant insurance is required. Check your homeowners or renters policy first — many already cover stored property, which saves you buying a second policy.

Do I need my own lock?

Yes. Bring a disc lock or buy one in the office. We don’t hold a key to your unit.

What can't I store?

Nothing living, nothing perishable, and nothing flammable or hazardous — fuel, propane, paint thinner, fireworks, ammunition. Anything with an engine goes in with the fuel drained or stabilised and the battery disconnected.

Can I store a car that doesn't run?

No. Vehicles need to be operable, registered and insured so they can be moved if they ever have to be.

Is there a military discount?

Ask. Tell us you’re serving or a veteran and we’ll tell you the best available rate, on top of the first month free. See military storage.

Can someone else access my unit?

Yes, if you authorise them in writing with the office. Deployed tenants should set this up before leaving rather than from overseas.

How do I pay?

Online, on autopay, or at the office.

What happens in a hurricane?

No structure is a guarantee. Pack for water — off the floor, sealed bins, cotton covers not plastic — photograph everything, and keep insurance current. See the hurricane season storage guide.

Can I run a business from my unit?

You can store stock, tools and equipment. You can’t operate out of the doorway, receive customers, or run machinery — there’s no power in the units. See business storage.

First month free

New tenants get the first month free on any unit or outdoor space — including the big RV spaces. Month to month, so you are never locked into a year to get the deal.

Still not sure?

Call the office or send an enquiry with what you’re storing — and the length, if it’s a vehicle — and we’ll tell you what’s open, what it costs, and whether we are actually the right fit. If we’re not, we’ll say so.
